At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel du Vin Winchester is a boutique hotel in the heart of one of England's oldest cities. Built in 1715, this Queen Anne-style building is close to the historic cathedral and Winchester's shops and attractions.

We had a great stay here at the start of our South Downs Way walk. It's perfect for exploring the city. The staff are very kind, the chef is good,& the rooms are clean & well-furnished. It's also dog-frienly.The courtyard garden is a lovely spot to dine in. An extra check in person/ computer would be wise as there was a queue.

We stayed for one night as we passed through Winchester. A family of 3 with a baby. We thought with this being an upmarket place it might not be the most baby friendly, but the room was set out with a very nice cot and baby change station. We stayed in one of the garden suites, which was perfect as we had a bit of quiet outdoor space to enjoy a drink while in earshot of the baby. The room was spacious and well set out. We only ate breakfast there which was good if a little pricey.
