At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel du Vin Winchester is a boutique hotel in the heart of one of England's oldest cities. Built in 1715, this Queen Anne-style building is close to the historic cathedral and Winchester's shops and attractions.

Recent trip here for our work staff christmas private function. We had a delightful 3 course meal with champagne on arrival and mince pies to close the night. Lovely room (Lombard) with a large table so seated our staff team with ease. Superb food.

The hotel room was beautiful but incredibly loud. The double glazing film in the room was broken making it loud. The pulls on the blinds were broken and the toiletries had not been filled up correctly so it was impossible to pump anything out. The room we were booked into should NOT be used when it has so many things broke, especially at I think £150 a night we roughly paid. It looked beautiful but practically needed repairs doing. It felt worn and poor value. Additionally no other rooms were available during our stay and no accommodations were made despite many things being broken in the room.

I have stayed at multiple Hotel Du Vin's all over the country so when my Grandparents invited us away and I saw that there was one in Winchester we booked Hotel Du Vin straight away. Service was completely different to the service we have received at other Hotel Du Vins, when my Grandparents checked in they were rushed and nothing was explained properly resulting in excess fee's as they believe the breakfast and basket of snacks in the room were both included in the room price resulting in considerable extra fee's. As they are both in their 80's I felt the lack of time taken to explain these things were truly unacceptable. We ordered from the out of hours room service and only one food option was available out of four, a spaghetti bolognaise. The menu said it came with cheese but when it was delivered it was cold, basic and without cheese. We were then charge over the odds for this meal with a tray charge added. Room was clean but too hot- the hotel is clearly aware of this as they provided a fan that is not in other rooms. The tap dripped constantly in the bathroom, which the hotel is again aware of as they over tighten the tap in order to stop this which my grandparent physically could not unscrew without assistance. The soap dispensers are broken. We called Reception and no one responded for over 15 minutes, staff were confrontational when these issues were brought to their attention. I have highly rated and stayed at this chain multiple times but after this experience we will not return. I was really disappointed as I had suggested we stayed here and my Grandparents ended up with a bill over £2,000 and were really disappointed.
