Come with my 2 friends and it was the perfect vibe to finish off our day. The staff were very chatty and welcoming and had smiles all over their faces. The food was great and tasteful unfortunately my eyes were too big for my stomach. The chef was friendly and professional. We all enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely be coming again. Thank you for having us!

We had a pleasant meal at Toby. We’re regulars, and Ebony recognised us from a previous visit. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and took the time to find us a table we liked. I also noticed how busy the carvery was, and she stepped in to check whether the chefs needed support—she didn’t stand still throughout the service. When it came time to pay, she noticed our table had been moved and kindly checked that we were happy with everything. I used to own a hotel and restaurant, and if I still did, I’d want Ebony on my team. Thank you!

My recent visit to Toby Carvery was a bit of a mixed bag. While there were some positive aspects, there were also several areas that need improvement. **The Positives:** * **Friendly Staff:** Our server, Nick, was very welcoming and attentive. The carver, Jake, was also professional and answered all our questions politely, even when faced with challenging customers. * **Good Food (Eventually):** Once the meat was finally cooked, it was quite good. **The Negatives:** * **Uncooked Meat:** Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the meat was not cooked and had to wait 30 minutes for it to be ready, despite being told it would only be 20. * **Lack of Allergy Awareness:** We were not asked about any allergy requirements, which is a significant oversight. * **Slow Dessert Service:** The desserts took a very long time to arrive and were incorrect when they finally did. * **Run-Down Establishment:** The restaurant itself is in need of refurbishment. The carpets were dirty, the tables were worn out, and there were broken tiles in the toilet. * **Missed Opportunity:** While we waited for the meat, we were offered pigs in blankets for £3.99. Considering the delay, it would have been a nice gesture for the restaurant to waive this small charge. **Overall:** Toby Carvery has the potential to be a good dining experience, but it falls short in several areas. The lack of cooked meat, slow service, and run-down establishment detracted from our visit. While the staff were friendly and the food was ultimately good, the negatives outweighed the positives on this occasion. **Recommendation:** I would recommend that Toby Carvery address the issues raised in this review to improve the customer experience. With some attention to detail and refurbishment, it could be a much more enjoyable place to dine.
