Bad reception no good afternoon or I will be with you in a minute, 10 minutes before we were seated, another wait before we got served with drinks. Then another wait before we ordered the meal. Yet another wait before we got our meal to find it was just warm. Could not eat it We did complain Waitress very apologetic. Asked for the bill they deducted the price for the drinks which was appreciated but it would have been better if we had better service and a hot meal. It was not busy at all.

I have dined at the Cock Inn on and off over many many decades. But what has happened since my previous visit a couple years ago...? On entering customers cannot miss the large plant pots adorning each side of the main doors which are doubling as ashtrays. They are full of cigarette butts, 100s of them. It is absolutely revolving. This looks terrible and shows a lack of respect to your customers and sloppiness on behalf of the management & a general neglect and poor hygiene. The food though delicious, I ordered the steak, was very small. The service though adequate should not come with staff pestering for positive feedback online even asking me to mention their name & prior to leaving. That is for me decide. The improvements needed are very basic and frankly common sense good management & basic cleanliness. Come on I expect better next time.

We had a group booking of 9 for a birthday dinner last night! Very friendly and helpful staff, made us feel most welcome as well as our dogs! The food was really delicious and well presented. We were all happy with our orders of steaks, burgers and beef bourguignon. We will definitely be back to try a Sunday roast!
