For the meat eaters the food was good. They seemed very understaffed and it was a shame to see the staff so rushed and stressed. No one came to take our main meal order and we couldn't find anyone to flag down so the vegan in our party opted to just get a carvery instead of the mushroom and red wine pie they came for. but the steamed vegetables were to be honest quite disappointing. No vegan friendly roasties or mash, the sprouts didn't even have the bitter ends chopped off. Lots was wasted and I felt like paying the same price for steamed vegetables versus gammon, beef, puddings, roast potatoes in beef dripping etc was a bit disappointing. Nice enough food but probably won't be back in a hurry. No fault of the staff to be fair we feel it was very very understaffed for boxing day and the staff seemed to be stressed and trying their very best

A disappointing experience here last night. We had a table booked in for 6pm to celebrate my mother's birthday, with all 3 of us opting for a carvery. However, we were not told by the staff that the options were highly limited as the majority of the meat and vegetables on the carvery deck were gone by the time we got there. At 6pm, this is ridiculous, especially considering there were bookings for the rest of the night right up until close. I dread to think what they were served. This was also made worse by my brother's gluten allergy. There were even less options available for him than usual as previously mentioned, there was hardly any food left. This is the first real negative experience I've had at a Toby Carvery, but I hope this is sorted in the future, as it is not acceptable.

It is one of the best carveries I and my husband have had in a long time. The roast potatoes and baked onions in gravy are just delicious, the beef could do with less fat on it we prefer leaner meat but other than that it was spot on. Staff are friendly enough and would definitely recommend this pub. Only one criticism would be for the actual pub to have a bit of a refurbishment it does look a little tired and in need of some TLC. Thank you 🌟
