4.0a week agoWe visited today (March 2025) it was so busy, luckily we had booked a table the night before. People were being advised that the wait for a table was 1 hour if they hadn't previously booked. There is a large car park with accessible parking spaces near the main entrance. We had a voucher that entitled us to 2 carvery meals for £12.00. The voucher was for people over the age of 60. The queue for food at the carvery was long and it took us about 30 mins to finally sit with our meal, however, the food was lovely (apart from the lumpy mashed potato). Prices for drinks were around £5.50 for a pint and £2.50 for a small soft drink. We enjoyed our visit and we would recommend it.

4.02 weeks agoIf it wasn’t for the staff waiting on the tables this review would be a 2 star. The staff waiting on the tables are excellent and always friendly, polite and great service. We have been about 7 times now. The chap that has been our server quite a few times now is always happy and polite. The staff at the bar and that show you to tables are rude and have no customer service skills. They finish even unloading an everything on the bar from the dishwasher before they even acknowledge you are there and are quite abrupt and rude when speaking to customers. There is sometimes a que for carvery but the food is always nice. A few weeks ago we went for breakfast. We had to wait 10 minutes for plates after asking 3 different people as there was none there even then they weren’t clean, by this time it was 11am and they were packing everything away even the teas so only got one cup.

1.0a month agoDon’t bother. Worst £45 I’ve ever spent! The worst experience at a Toby Carvery!!! Be prepared to queue in a 15minute line for your carvery as only one server. The only edible part of the meal was the mash and the meat. The potatoes and Yorkshire’s both were over cooked and left a horrible burnt taste in the mouth. The cauliflower cheese was rock hard and inedible. The macaroni cheese had no flavour and was just basically watery pasta. The options for veg were very limited to green beans or peas which were both undercooked. The staff were very rude on the phone when inquiring to book as online had an error. The lady at first told me there was no availability but when I said online there was availability she managed to magic up a table. Be very careful with the sign saying you can upgrade to king size for free because you cannot apparently it’s only if you are not asked by server, we were very rudely told by our waitress who had no time for customer. It appears customer service skills are lacking for most staff. Very understaffed. Would not recommend. What a waste of £45
