After opening in 2011, The Broad Chare were immediately awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in recognition of ‘good quality, good value cooking’ and have been awarded a Bib Gourmand every year since. In the same year, they were included in The Top 50 Gastro Pubs list, a go-to source for the best pubs to dine at in the UK, and have also been included in the list ever since.

The menus offer honest, home-cooked food like pubs used to serve: tasty, satisfying, proudly British and perfectly seasonal. It's a great spot to enjoy a proper sit-down-at-the-table meal, such as one of the Sunday roasts, with options such as topside beef, shoulder of pork, or shoulder of lamb.

    Absolutely wonderful experience here. Staff attentive but relaxed, great vibe & fantastic food. High recommend. Wish I’d taken more photos. This was the Butchers Steak in green peppercorn sauce! Delicious 🙏

    great atmosphere & staff, iffy menu selections! lots of weird foods. if you’d like to try pig ears/ heads, this is the place for you! on the flip side, the pork chop & scotch egg are great!

    Really good food, excellent cask beer, too. The fish soup with rouille was outstanding, as was the scotch egg. Their small plates offer suffers from the definition problem - what is small (they were big!), but more particularly: I like them to come like tapas, but here we did have to wait a long time for 4x small plates (after we'd asked for the soup & scotch egg to come as starters, followed by the further 4x plates 'as and when') which all arrived together
