This magical Edwardian building has been transformed into a beautiful restaurant and bar, delivering an experience you won't find anywhere else in Newcastle.

Set in the stunning Sunlight Chambers, this Grade II listed building is curiously coloured and has a remarkable mosaic freeze that depicts work and honest toil. Thankfully inside is every bit as beautiful as outside, and incorporates many of the wonderful existing features of Sunlight Chambers into the Hibou Blanc design to create a wonderful location that oozes old school style and glamour.

The menu at Hibou Blanc reflects the very best of seasonal produce. With locally sourced ingredients, the menu changes regularly, driven by flavour to create food with an impressive range of flavour.

Every Sunday, Hibou Blanc serve an iconic Sunday Lunch. Choose from two or three-courses, with a variety of starters and desserts. The roast takes centre-stage of course, with rump of beef, breast of chicken or loin of pork, all served with roast potatoes, mashed potato, confit carrot, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal greens and gravy. There are also other options for those in the mood for something a little different, such as the foraged mushroom & thyme tart.

Hibou Blanc is located in Newcastle city centre, on the corner of the Bigg Market and High Bridge street. It is conveniently just a short walk from Newcastle Central Station.

This is the second time in just a few months my wife and I have had a meal at Hibou Blanc and we cannot recommend highly enough! The food is stunning, we had the oysters, mushroom soup and filet of steak. I ordered rare and it was cooked to perfection. The small menu ensures food is perfect but I never felt limited. The dark atmosphere lends itself perfect for a date and pricing was reasonable, fantastic when considered against the quality of service, food and drinks. I recommend the Bloody Mary highly! Can’t wait to go a third time!

We visited on a Sunday for my partners birthday , so we had the the three course Sunday lunch deal, which cost £32, the baked cheese souffle was excellent as were the venison scotch eggs, we then both had the lamb which was cooked to our choice, and it was absolutely delicious, desserts were chocolate brownie, again very good and the strawberries and ice cream, which i chose as I'm not really a dessert person was good but presentation wasn't great for a high end restaurant, after a strawberry spritz cocktail and redbull the bill was around £82. the staff were lovely and very attentive but not intrusive, would return for a special occasion.

I joined a friend for lunch and we started with a cocktail. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. It's the second time I've been and I would definitely go back. It's top quality in every aspect.
