This charming French inspired bistro is located on Grainger Street in the town centre, and is open from breakfast right through until dinner, catering for a Bruncher's every need.

Their Breakfast menu is an extensive mix ranging from light options such as a simple croissant or fruit salad to cooked breakfast classics such as Eggs Benedict and continental twists such as Crepe Complète with shaved Gruyere cheese. Côte follow the mantra that breakfast is better when boozy and you can upgrade to add a mimosa and Bloody Mary

Their French Sunday lunch menu is an equally eclectic affair, created with a unique twist exclusively for two to share. Choose from corn-fed marinated chicken or sirlion steak (16oz), served with Comté & thyme ‘Yorkshire puddings’, crispy confit potatoes, gratin Provençal, tenderstem broccoli, lemon & herb aioli and peppercorn sauce.

They do have a tendency to get busy so book your Breakfast, Brunch and Sunday Lunch experience at Côte Newcastle now.

Excellent selection of delicious food and wine. Essentially French cuisine with some unique flavours, well prepared and served. We enjoyed a midweek relaxing dining experience thanks to the nice people, the place and atmosphere.

I always think very carefully about leaving negative reviews however, after a second very poor experience dining with this chain - I can safely say I think they are doomed. First of all, I cannot fault the welcome from the waiting staff, they were lovely. Beyond that, it was beyond poor. Where do I start.. Fixtures and fittings in this restaurant - tired and smelly. Starter - overpriced scallops in a weird peach sauce. Main course - beyond dry inedible roast chicken. The chips were decent but I had to leave the meat, it was dreadful. I got a refund in the end. My wife enjoyed the hake in fairness but my food just ruined the experience for both of us and I am really not that fussy. I didn’t even make it to dessert, I was fed up and just wanted to leave. No effort from staff to rectify the issue. I was at the Solihull restaurant 3 months previous and had supposed medium rare steak served as beyond well done. Once the mistake was acknowledged, I got a correctly served steak once everyone else had finished their meal. No apology, I was made to feel awkward. Way better places to eat, I would avoid this restaurant and chain in general. I would welcome the opportunity to be proved wrong but twice is enough for me.

We ordered the Côte de Boeuf, with some sides (gratin dauphinois, tender stem broccoli, french fries). The food was cooked beautifully (the broccoli was a bit undercooked, but still tasted very good). Would recommend 100%.
