I visited here for a family meal, and we all chose the carvery option for our main. The main carvery meal was nice, however, there was a ten minute wait to be served at the carvery deck and some of the vegetables and the vegetarian gravy were not very warm. The portions for the main carvery were extremely good and the meat was very well cooked. Some of our party had dessert and all desserts were very nice. One of our party had an allergy and this was taken extremely seriously. An iPad was provided with all possible menu options so each possible choice could be checked for potential allergens. The member of staff also said there was an option to have the vegetables steam cooked separately if required. This part was excellent and should be commended. Overall we had a lovely meal but the restaurant did get very busy around standard meal times. Would recommend.

We have been coming to this same Toby Carvery for the last 3 years and have got to know the staff well. After all these regular visits, this time we have been inspired to write this review after our last experience. We were greeted by Rox for our 4pm booking and were shown to our table where we were really pleasantly surprised to see it all ready, set and prepared with our usual bottle of “sparkling water, three glasses, ice and lemon” which what we always ask for. Wow ! ..now that’s service. Sarah took care of us and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were well served. The other two servers Andrea and Emma (not on that day) that we also know are equally good and can’t do enough for you. The food has recently improved recently in that it seems consistently hot unlike previously when there were times when it could be cold. Portion size can vary depending on the carver. Generally it is fine and would be as expected, occasionally quite generous too, although there is one carver who seems to be frugal in portion size. We just hope he isn’t around whenever we go ! The facility is nicely set out, plenty of easy parking and is really pleasant to visit whenever we have been which is mainly in the afternoons. The cost for a roast carvery is well priced and very reasonable Thank you Toby Carvery
