2.02 months agoThe atmosphere here is undeniably charming — a beautifully set room with a relaxing vibe, perfect for an afternoon tea outing. The food was decent: the sandwiches and pastries were fine, nothing particularly memorable, but pleasant enough for a leisurely afternoon. Unfortunately, the service really took away from the overall experience. Despite the place not being busy, it was extremely difficult to get any attention. We had to keep getting up to find a server — just to request more hot water for tea, ask for the check, or really anything at all. It felt like we were constantly trying to flag someone down, which took away from what should have been a relaxing and seamless experience. It’s a shame because the setting has so much potential. If the service improves, it could be a real gem — but as it stands, I wouldn’t rush back.

4.08 months agoExcellent service and presentation, but the price point isn’t quite there for me, and a bit disappointed in the desserts. We dined as a 4 for a dual birthday dinner and sampled a variety of the dishes on offer. The most intriguing was the £140 pie for 2 to share. It was tasty but I think overpriced, and didn’t find the small piece of aged fillet on the side necessary. The treacle tart was dry and disappointing. The service staff were great, and a little birthday treat was presented to each birthday boy which was a nice touch. Crepes Suzette prepared table side was also entertaining.
