Nice Sunday roast — very filling! The chicken was slightly pink inside, so not my top choice. The beef, on the other hand, was much better and more flavourful.

I took my wife to the River Restaurant for her birthday last Saturday. From the moment we got on site, we were treated with the utmost professionalism, respect, and courtesy. from the doormen, (Sebastian and Ghanti) Sebastian personally took us to the booking desk. The restaurant staff were amazing. 2 Gents (who are managers,(Richard and Julien) came and introduced themselves to us, and made us feel very welcome, they made us feel like we've known them as friends for years, going above and beyond, even noticing our glasses were low and pouring our drinks for us, (water and Champagne). After finishing our meal, which was OUTSTANDING, from presentation to size to taste, (pics added) they arranged for a small cake for my wife. (Not pre ordered). Julien had finished his duties/shift he came over to us to goodbye before leaving. Richard also made effort to come to us as we were leaving. My wife was blown away by the whole experience. I could go on and on and on. My last words would be. A massive THANK YOU, especially to Julien and Richard. Oh and Sebastian and Ghanti.

Elegant dining with lovely service, though portions could be more generous. The River Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay offers a lovely dining experience in a beautifully designed space, no expense spared on the interiors. For the best spot, I recommend requesting a table at the back left of the dining room; it has views outside, albeit slightly limited. The food is delicious across the board. Cocktails are expertly made, and the fish and chips were very good. The Dover sole meunière was a standout, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. That said, portion sizes, especially for starters, felt a bit tight for the price point. The smoked salmon arrived with just three slices, and the scallop dish came with only two. For a restaurant at this level, you'd expect a little more generosity. Service was a real highlight: front-of-house staff were superb, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. The overall layout of the dining room strikes a great balance between comfort and elegance. However, one minor inconvenience: the toilets are quite a walk away, requiring you to leave the restaurant and pass through the afternoon tea area. All in all, a refined and enjoyable meal, though a slightly larger starter wouldn’t go amiss
