My first pub on my search for the best Sunday roast in London. We waited about 3 weeks for a table because it’s very popular! First I’ll say it’s a beautiful interior, with lively atmosphere and friendly, thoughtful, quick service. For a starter, we got the potato bread which was warm and the smoked butter was very fluffy and creamy, with a subtle smoked flavour. I loved the texture of the bread - great start to the meal. We chose the lamb and beef roast dinners with an extra side of cauliflower cheese - both were beautifully presented. The cauliflower cheese and cabbage were stand-out for me in flavour. The cabbage almost tasted like Caesar salad for the first bite - I loved it. The cauli cheese was so cheesy, and almost tasted like a stuffing at times. It was the best one I’ve had. The beef and lamb were both very good - some bites melted it my mouth and had a lot of flavour and others were a tiny bit chewy. The gravy was delicious and the horseradish sauce as well. The potatoes weren’t the best roasties I’ve had. They were hot and fluffy internally but they had a crust and didn’t have enough flavour or crispy glassiness. All in all it was a delightful experience and I would highly recommend it!

BEST SUNDAY ROAST we have ever tried We had the sirloin steak and every single side was delicious. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. It's a more expensive roast than at other pubs but believe me that the small extra cost is more than worth it! We had oysters for a starter that were so tasty and the over all experience was incredible. Highly recommend!! We paid around 90-100 per person including oysters for starters, the sirloin steak and dessert and a really nice bottle of wine!
