🚇 Homerton 🍺 £6.00 Cruzcampo The Adam & Eve is located on Homerton High Street in Hackney, East London. The nearest station is Homerton which is on the newly named Mildmay line. This pub has a history dating back to 1735, the pub you see today was built in 1915. This is an absolutely stunning building, the architecture is striking with detailed stonework which creates an imposing facade. This is a sizeable traditionally decorated pub which retains many original period features. The servery is centrally located with adjoining bars forming a “U shape around it. The right hand side of the pub has a long bar with a pool table sat at the back. There is a larger bar to the left which has a raised seating area with beautiful stained glass panels. At the back of the pub is another space with cosy banquettes and an “L” shaped pool table which is a rare find. At the rear of the pub is a beer garden which has a tropical feel. Everywhere you look around this pub there are amazing features like the leaded window partition, stained glass, period fireplaces, stunning ceiling, huge mirrors and swathes of detailed woodwork. The beer selection was solid and offers familiar mainstays, London brews and cask ales. I kept it simple and ordered a Cruzcampo, my pint was great, price point was average. At the time of visiting the food menu was Hot Dogs and Subs. There is a new kitchen residency @essi.restaurant which serves up traditional Greek cuisine plus roasts on a Sunday. We arrived just after 12pm on a humid Saturday lunchtime in August. The pub was quiet at first, but soon started filling up with punters eager to catch the start of the Arsenal v Brighton midday Prem match. By the time we left at halftime, the pub was packed with a predominantly younger crowd. The service was friendly and welcoming, the chap who served us was pleasant and courteous. Well, what a cracking pub @theadamandevee9 is. I absolutely loved the architecture, the traditional and interesting decor, the beer was on point and the hospitality first class. I left here with a big smile, what a boozer! 📅 31st August 2024 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

I’ve been coming to this pub for almost 10 years. From around 5 years to now it’s impressive how the quality decreased. The staff used to be so friendly, but now all the staff at the bar is unbelievably rude and not welcoming at all. I just stopped coming around -: the whole environment changed. We used to go to the back tables and now the space is only for food as if the menu offered is a restaurant-like menu. Plus, it pushes the pub to an uncomfortable crowded place. Attempted to give it a go a couple of times and always regretted. Today was just the same. What a shame. A local old good pub just became a place that pretends to be too cool for you.

Always liked this pub but some of the staff need a little training. It’s like a race to the bottom with who can act ‘coolest’ as in pretty much blanking everyone waiting and making ‘jokes’ with other members of staff. One dude in particular, with blonde almost ginger hair and a shirt that said Automatic or something on it proceeded to ‘serve’ us by nodding his head and after being asked for two drinks please, said absolutely nothing from serving to payment. All the while we are standardly courteous. Thought maybe he just didn’t like the look of us but observed it with everyone he served. Bad look for the pub. You’re a kid in a bar not Joey Ramone. Get over yourself, and some basic manners.
