5.02 months agoThis was like a hidden gem inside borough market. Beautiful decor and equally beautiful cuisine. We had a private room so it was easy to chat; however, when the door opened it was quite loud out in the dining area. The service was top notch, prompt, clean, attention to detail - I couldn't ask for anything more. We started with some Scotch eggs and scallops, both of which were fantastic. Our entire table of 10 ordered the wellington and it came out looking and tasting amazing. Needed a pinch of salt, but that could be my American palette shining through. Fantastic sides with carrots, spinach, mushrooms and cheesy cauliflower. The drinks were great as well. I ordered the Big Ben and it was a hit at the table.

5.0a week agoI had the pleasure of experiencing Roast’s Wimbledon-themed afternoon tea, and it truly exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail stood out from the tennis inspired decor sun flowers to the beautifully presented treats. The selection of sandwiches (halal) and scones was classic but elevated, while the themed desserts really stole the show: think miniature tennis balls crafted from mousse, strawberry tarts that gave a perfect nod to the iconic Wimbledon strawberries and cream, and a refreshing selection of teas. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the whole experience felt relaxed yet special ideal for both tennis fans and afternoon tea lovers alike. A brilliant balance of creativity, flavour, and atmosphere. Definitely one I’d recommend if you’re looking for something seasonal and memorable in London.

5.02 months agoWe really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Roast. We had the beef and lamb, both of which were very good and the meat was tender. The roast potatoes were deliciously crispy and we really enjoyed the mixed vegetables too. The freshly made mint sauce with the lamb was an excellent addition. All in all, a very good roast. The restaurant is light and airy and the view is over Borough market. The entrance way is a little over the top, in my opinion, with all the floral instagram style decorations, but the inside of the restaurant is less so. The formal dining area is quite nice. Riccardo, our waiter, was charismatic and friendly making the experience even nicer. We look forward to going back.
