I’ve stayed at Intercontinental London Park Lane several times over the years, and while the hotel still delivers in many ways, this visit left me with mixed feelings. The hotel has been nicely renovated since my last stay, and its location remains one of the best in London—central, elegant, and easy to access. The entrance staff are consistently helpful and welcoming, and check-in was smooth and fast. However, as a Diamond member, I wasn’t acknowledged, there was no welcome note, and no upgrade. I later learned the hotel was fully booked due to the marathon, which I understand, but even so, I didn’t feel special or recognized for my loyalty. I once described this hotel as my “home away from home.” This time, it didn’t feel that way. The personal warmth and attention that once defined the experience seem to have faded. The suite was clean at first glance, and I appreciated the turndown service, along with the pleasant scent the team leaves after each cleaning. But housekeeping missed some basic details: a dirty towel was left on the floor, tea supplies weren’t replenished, and my shirt remained under the seat for two days—clear signs of a drop in attentiveness. The club lounge remains a highlight—generous with champagne during happy hour and offering a great breakfast selection. Staff were friendly, but lounge timings weren’t explained at check-in and had to be asked about. The gym was excellent—very clean, well-equipped, and actively maintained. Towels on each machine and visible cleaners showed a high level of care in that area. Checkout was smooth, and I still enjoy the hotel and love being in London.
But I hope the Intercontinental Park Lane revisits the attention to detail and warmth that once made it stand out so much more.

Excellent hotel located in the vibrant but still quiet area next to the parks. Lounge is small but service is great - choice of snacks during the day and champagne offer in the evenings. Assistants paid attention to food restriction needs and offered alternatives .

For the price, it was very underwhelming. We have platinum ambassador status with IHG and stay at Intercontinental hotels all around the world. The room was a bit dated (shower/bath combo), I think we had their king premium room which for the price you’re paying hope to have a beautiful room. I just think the rooms need a bit of a refurbishment to match the expensive London price you are paying for! There’s a difference between dated and old century character. Breakfast was lovely, with great staff. However their overall reception, concierge, doormen, and instant service (via phone) staff weren’t great. I don’t think the doormen managed to open the door once for me during the 2 night stay.
