5.0a month agoThis is a great traditional British pub in the heart of Dulwich Village. We love coming here - especially mid week on my maternity leave as the pub isn’t busy at all and the food and drink is great. The staff are also really friendly and knowledgeable of their products and they also have a really good kids’ menu with some options on there that can be offered to weaning babies too. The pub itself is super traditional which is what you’d expect in the heart of Dulwich Village and has a real feel of an old British establishment but the food is top notch with modern and multi cultural items appearing on the menu. Whether it’s small plates of squid, scallops of even crab Thermidor or something more classic like fish and chips or pie and mash. It really does have something for everyone and a great selection of veggie options too. In the week there is a sandwich combo deal where you can order a sandwich and fries or salad either a drink for something like £12 and it includes beer, wine, cider and soft drinks so very good value for money! There’s a great balance of different seating options to accommodate different seasons and sized parties - classic dining room seating inside, more modern patio garden dining in a garden room and outdoor garden space or the best of both worlds - sitting outside the front of the pub watching the world pass you by.

5.02 weeks agoLovely pub in the heart of Dulwich village. I have been here on numerous occasions for pints, pub snacks, and a roast dinner. Each of these visits was enjoyable and well hosted by both the fantastic range and availability of food and drink at the establishment and the friendly, amenable staff the Crown and Greyhound had employed. For the roast I was sat in the back beer garden area which resembled more of a terrace and provided peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of Dulwich village at the front of the pub. The front area of the pub also has an extensive amount of seating allowing punters to sip refreshing drinks and partake in pub parlance whilst paying regard to the peacocking locals of Dulwich village as they parade their poodles ponderously past the pub. Although I have not attended this pub on a matchday, one imagines it may radiate with a sense of worthy expectation prior to a Dulwich Hamlet game, as crowds throng here to network and talk shop about the delicate state of play in the Women's national league SE or Isthmian premier League. Of course ensuring they have their house keys on hand ready to shake at opposing fans. This may come a few hours before or after kickoff though, as there are a number of other licensed establishments in closer proximity to the Hamlet ground.
