Blacklock was born from a love of the traditional Chophouse. Drop by for chops, cocktails, wine on tap and of course a formidable Sunday Lunch.

Prioritising quality meaty goodness, Blacklock’s meat is sourced exclusively from small farms in Cornwall owned by award winning butchers, the Warren Family.

Sunday Lunch is the perfect opportunity to get around a table with friends and family and regale each other with the week's goings-on. Many claim to have the best, but at Blacklock they know no roast will ever beat the nostalgic feast Mums dish out up and down the land each week.

However, they do their best to get as close to that comforting feast, safe in the knowledge that it will only ever be almost as good as Mum's. The Roast menu is only available on Sundays with delicious chops and steaks (and plenty in-between) served throughout the week.

Blacklock in the City is just a stone’s throw away from Leadenhall and Old Billingsgate Market and close to London Bridge and Tower Bridge with great transport links from Monument, Fenchurch Street Station, Bank and Cannon Street.

First time in London and had to try the Sunday roast. Heard good things about Blacklock so we had to try. It was great! Service was great and the restaurant was full. Good atmosphere and the meats were great. The gravy was one of the best ive ever tried. The potatoes had crispy outer layer with soft texture in the middle with an amazing flavor.

The lady that served us was great. She was friendly and helped us with our order. We ordered two medium fillet’s and steak dripping fried. Last time at blacklock the meat was perfect, however this time, my steak was tooooooo salty! I was pretty disappointed because i had high expectations from my last visit.

Visited for lunch on the weekend with a few friends. One of the famous slightly more upscale chains of steakhouses in London. Great simple menu of meats, sides, and sauces and given the very high quality of the food, all well priced for a steakhouse. I shared an “All-in” platter with a friend which is £27 per person for at least 2 people. This was a large plate piled with 2 porkchops, two steak cuts, four lamb chops, and two flatbreads. It also came with a side each and some small starters. This was truly some of the best value for high quality steak and meats I have found in London. Every single meat was absolutely delicious, seasoned perfectly, and extremely well cooked. I was worried that some pieces would be overcooked or inconsistent due to the amount of cuts of meat but everything was perfect. Of their sides we had their beef dripping chips and pecan salad. The salad was surprisingly very flavourful and refreshing. However, I found their chips to be slightly bland despite being well cooked. Of the sauces we had their bone marrow and gravy. The bone marrow was creamy and tasty with the garlic and herbs added on top but on its own was also quite bland. Their gravy however was excellent so will definitely be my preferred choice next time. Of their desserts, we tried their apple and rhubarb crumble and their berry cheesecake. Both were great but again - ever so slightly light on flavour. I preferred the cheesecake as this came with a strong berry jam to add on top and this was very much needed and helped create a much better overall flavour. The staff were great and very accommodating. Will say the mains did take quite a while to come out - around 30 minutes - but given the quality of the meats presented I think it was worth the wait. Would definitely recommend to come back simply for their great mains and would definitely recommend the “All-in” platter for some great value.
