I really don’t like leaving a negative review of anywhere really, but willing to make an exception here. Wow. Called in for breakfast this morning and I thought there had been a bar fight over the food. It was terrible. Really bad. The hash browns looked like they been steamed originally then battered into an unrecognisable pulp. When I asked a member of the staff if there were anymore, she might as well have said ‘ Am I bovvered’.. The whole hot plate looked like a disaster. Eggs floating in oil, mushrooms that looked like they’ve been braising for hours, sausages broiled, not fried and evidently, oven roasted and over cooked bacon… And this was no cheap doo either. Have ate at other Toby’s, but this place was a carcrash. Worth driving on. If you like it, crack on. Never again for me.

The staff were lovely and the service was amazing however the carvery was absolutely shocking, the yorkies were like cardboard, all the veggies were dried and shrivelled up, the cauliflower was hard, it had all clearly been sat there for a long time including the gravy which was full of lumps and covered in a skin. I have been places for cheaper and had better quality food. I won’t be surprised if we’re unwell from the food.

Not the greatest of welcomes to start off with, waitress was quite abrupt. The girl on the carvery didn't look at all comfortable doing the job and jumped straight onto her phone as soon as the queue died down. I found the meats available were dried out. I ended up just having the beef as I couldn't face the other meats. To be fare, the beef was very tender and tasty. The veg were a let down too, all overcooked and soggy. One of our party chose the tomato soup, well, it was more like tomatoe paste, very, very thick. needless to say, won't rush back.
