What a gorgeous restaurant/bar/brasserie. Stunning from the second you walk in. Amazing service from staff on the doors, staff taking coats and the waiters/waitresses. Probably one of the nicest meals I’ve had out in Liverpool. So tasty and fresh. We treated ourselves to some champagne which again was delicious. Staff are very attentive. I would recommend the chicken supreme and the fish & chips. They gave my sister in law a free desert as it was her birthday. Cannot wait to return!

Wow wow wow. Ignore the negative reviews, make your own decision, I am glad we did. Food was really good, service was second to none. I felt like I was back on a celebrity cruise it was that good. The inside is absolutely stunning, I will be returning. Tip, buy a gift card on your way in for £100 and take your free bottle of champagne home with you 😉

If my review was based on the service and decor, I would most definitely be giving a well deserved 5 star review today.. BUT.... Sadly, the food was the complete opposite. I booked for myself and my mum to celebrate her birthday with breakfast. We started with a pot of tea each which was mediocre. For our food, I opted for the full Ivy breakfast. My eggs were not cooked how I asked them to be at first, so it got sent back without fuss and brought back to me with the plate so hot, I burnt my hand on it. I'd give the breakfast 3 out of 5 stars which is being generous. For the price you pay I was expecting it to really have the wow factor but it was nothing special at all. My mum opted for the salmon royale and asked for her eggs to be scrambled instead of poached. They did this for her with no hesitation but unfortunately, it was very grey looking and not a nice vibrant yellow as you would expect off a good quality egg and she described it as being very dry. The dish comes with hollandaise sauce but she was presented with a jug of tasteless, congealed gloop which she had to scoop out with a knife to spread on to her dry eggs and hard muffin. We would of asked for it to be changed, however, no one came over to ask how our food was and if everything was OK. The only time it came to their attention, was when the waiter came to clear our plates which were still 50% full. We informed the young man of the issue and he informed the kitchen and he came back to tell us that the chef even stated that this was totally unacceptable and waived the whole cost of the meal which we do appreciate. But rightly so in my opinion. I am not one at all to leave negative feedback, however the experience really tarnished what was supposed to be a lovely treat for my mums special day. We left feeling deflated and disappointed and the surprise I asked for, for a birthday plate was not even mentioned. I've heard mixed reviews on the ivy but thought I'd be my own judge and try it, but unfortunately the negative reviews I've heard about the food were true and we won't be retuning sadly.
