Toby Carvery - Huddersfield

Just enjoyed a lovely breakfast, however there were a couple of issues. The plates have definitely seen better days, I know they will get a lot of use and a dishwasher does ‘scar’ them but some weren’t as clean as they should have been. That said overall it was a pleasant way to spend an hour or so.

The staff were more than accommodating to our autistic shenanigans. They put ice cream on our cake to go and got us an entirely new slice so they could put it separately (preventing melting). Then upon getting roasts to go, our box was so full it warranted duct tape. They also provided three Yorkshire puddings and gravy, meaning for roughly £10 this was our haul (utilising rewards offers and Too Good to Go). We also got a mystery prize and stamp towards more money off for using the app! Thank you to all the staff here, none of you get paid enough to deal with our nonsense. Our only note is a small plea to introduce disposable cutlery, as we had to share a teaspoon to eat it.

We booked Sunday lunch for four and the booking online was easy and effective. Our carvery lunch was delicious with plenty of choice of meats and vegetables. We are always satisfied with the food. Staff were welcoming and helpful, especially as I lost a hat and rang in, which was attended to immediately. The prices have risen but this could be in line with the present rises in the cost of living. This particular Toby restaurant excels as we have friends who have attended other Toby restaurants who were less satisfied with the food, saying the vegetables were over cooked. We return as often as we can as it is value for money.
