We come here frequently and always have fish dishes. In this instance we both had fish and chips. Batter is always light and crispy encasing beautiful, quality fish. Good selection of wine which was served nice and cold at our table. We had our dog with us this time as did a few others…so dog friendly. Service efficient and friendly as always. Recommended. My only gripe was that the outside front was a bit untidy and needed a good sweep. Furniture there was looking a bit tired too.

Staff are welcoming and service is great. Food is lovely, particularly seafood options but steaks and burgers were also good and the breakfast options are all good at reasonable prices. Rooms feel a little tired, with scuffs and dings, but comfort not really affected by this. Overall we enjoy staying here when in the area as it’s a relaxed vibe, good food and nice staff.

After eating shortbread and hiking at a high altitude I was craving a goblin burger, but instead we happened upon The Derby Arms. Amazing little pub with great food and beer selection. I was no longer feeling prickly after that large and satisfying fish and chips! I'll definitely be back to try the burger another time. Definitely indeed.
