At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is situated in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells, a charming and historic town in the Kent countryside. Converted from a Grade II-listed mansion, the hotel is one of this beautiful spa town's architectural landmarks, with authentic Georgian period details.

Really great hotel in an old mansion. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite and it was incredible. Think posh, open space, 80's decor, bathtub in the bedroom, walk in shower, living area facing the park. Was loud however, as the was a wedding downstairs.

Afternoon tea for four at Hotel du Vin, what a treat. We arrived to our reserved parking space, which came with a hidden bonus feature: a giant concrete bollard lurking invisibly at bumper height. Judging by the collection of scrape marks, we weren’t the first victims. So, thanks for the free car bodywork bill to start the day. So if by treat you mean being made to feel like a nuisance from the moment you sit down. Our waitress looked positively thrilled (read: furious) when we dared to ask for a different bottle of wine. Water? Oh no, apparently that’s an optional extra here, even after asking, none ever materialised. We’d gone to the effort of phoning and emailing ahead to request cheddar sandwiches (nothing wild, just cheddar), but of course that was far too complex. Cream cheese it was. The food took an age to arrive, which might have been fine if it had been worth the wait. Sadly, it wasn’t, unless you enjoy mystery-flavoured sandwiches and scones topped with what looked suspiciously like dust or dirt. Honestly, I half expected Basil Fawlty to come charging out from the kitchen at any moment. All in all, it was less “luxury afternoon tea” and more “episode of Fawlty Towers with a price tag.” Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Rooms are spacious and old worldly. We had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and included. Dinner was ok. Wine was a bit expensive, I loved the cocktails and great deals during "happy hour"! We had a good time. Every staff member is friendly and helpful. We will stay at Hotel Du Vin in Tunbridge wells again and would recommend it.
