Arrived at 1400 on 2 Jan 25 (Thursday) for lunch, inexplicably the pub had stopped serving food, however the table next to us was served food, irritating. We asked for some chips which they agreed to however one portion of chips is £4.95 ridiculous. As you can see from the photo it is not £5 worth of chips so that small plate of chips cost £15 ridiculous. I will not ever be returning to this pub because I cannot guarantee they will be able to provide me lunch at a very reasonable time of the day. This pub has all of the attributes to be great but falls short due to management and service.

Wandered in after a morning canal walk and totally out of the blue ( and character) ordered a full English breakfast. Absolutely amazing...Portion sizes were generous to say the least, the food was cooked to perfection and not greasy at all. The Lattes were hot and tasty. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive without being pushy. Prices were good and we believed excellent value for money. Lucky it was sunny so sat overlooking the canal...perfect. Would definitely recommend and will be going back. Can't fill in the food recommendation bit below as breakfast isn't on it otherwise would be 5* on its own

A lovely Sunday lunch with friends and great servings offered. Roast beef, pork and chicken with helpings of roast vegetables and yorkshire pudding. It did feel a little rushed for a Sunday, having to clear and vacate the table.
