We had a fantastic meal here this evening, restaurant was spotless and the service was excellent. The only thing we felt was that the £25 service charge seemed a bit excessive for a group of 4 adults and 4 children. We would have happily left a generous tip if service hadn’t already been included. While we’re still happy to pay it, it did feel a little steep—especially considering we left the place tidy, with no mess from the children. That being said, we’d happily eat here again.

We visited for lunch on a Saturday. Food was delicious. The only downside was slow service, we only had two courses but our lunch in total took just short of 2.5 hours for a table of four in an almost empty dining room. Wouldn't put me off from coming again though if I was looking for a relaxed family lunch, as the food and location are great.

We came for Sunday dinner this afternoon as an earlier Mother’s Day celebration. The food was really nice and the setting is always lovely however the sirloin beef roast was £28.50 which I was more than happy to pay but it came out as one slice of meat. I would say the slice is about 1/4 of the thickness of a sirloin steak which you’d probably pay around the same price for. I did ask for 2nd slice of meat which did come out after asking 3 times if it was on its way (by which time I was nearly finished with my meal). The Wellington is a beautiful restaurant and the staff although a little out of their depth with how busy it was are very nice.
