My family and I didn't associate for Christmas, so this was our Christmas meal together. It was simply delightful, delicious, and awesome food. Some of us choose to have dessert too. Excellent customer care value and service.

Turned away at the bar at 19.00 due to lack of staff. Lots of them walking around at the time? When questioned again on this we were then told it was due to not having enough meat available. OK, but which was it? It can only make you believe they just couldn't be bothered. Poor service in all honesty, left hungry & disappointed after a 30 minute drive there to have to turn around and drive 30 minutes home! Had a similar experience (due to some kitchen issues) a few weeks before. Frustratingly we are unable to pre-book due to having a dog with us (confirmed on both the phone and on website). Dogs are normally welcome in the bar, saying that customers are usually welcome too. Unfortunately nothing was on their website to say closed to walk-in customers. Just to rub it in there were two people eating in the bar area (the walk-in customer area) who confirmed when asked that they had 'walked in' just 10 minutes before and were served OK. I think I'll leave it now for a while before trying again, at which time hopefully they can remind me why I wanted to go there in the first place 😞.

This is a beautiful house in a stunning setting with picturesque outside space, gardens and seating. Plenty of parking. The view to the garden from the table just perfect. The staff all keen, patient, helpful and easy to talk to. Louis served us and was very attentive. Just refurbished so fresh paint and fittings. The deck is impressive, master carver happy to talk. The food was perfect, roast potatoes wish I could do them like that. Gravy the same. Had beef, pork and ham, all flawless. Dauphinoise potatoes a hint of garlic, were lovely. Mac and cheese, mash, all great. Spotlessly clean. Easily the best place to go for a Sunday roast type meal by miles. No space for desert. Thank you.
