Toby Carvery - Lauriston Farm

We had Christmas dinner on 23rd December but slightly disappointed. Meats were cooked well, but were not hot, just slightly warm. Perhaps they need to be covered. Mashed potato was completely dried out, with apparently very little seasoning. Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were far too soft and melted away as you were eating them. Macaroni was completely dried up and hard, with no cheese sauce at all. Maybe some things are under these heat lamps too long and need replacing more regularly. The restaurant was nicely decorated. The waiting staff were very nice and very cheery. I've had food there before, but I don't remember it being so dried out. Definitely not the best Christmas meal I've ever had ! Parking is great though.

We as a Family love to get together on New Years Day for a Cavery. This time there was 20 of us in total. Staff were attentive and delivered our drinks & Food without too much delay. Food - Meat was ample as was the choice of vegetables although some were not very hot. Puddings were tasty although we were not told that there was no ice cream till we were about to order which upset some. Size of puddings was very good but the amount of custard (approx 2 tablespoons) caused a laugh. Thanks for providing more custard when asked. Overall we all enjoyed our get-together and our meal immensely and decided there and then to book for next New Years Day 2026. Thank you to the staff who looked after us. I wish I could remember your names. Till next year.

There was no choice other than the festive menu, it didn't have prices on unless you were having 2 or 3 courses. The coffee machine wasn't working, the ice cream machine wasn't working. So due to the face it was only the festive menu there was very limited choice on deserts.
