The Spanish Butcher was lovely. The steak was perfectly cooked and the baked cheesecake was phenomenal. No complaints with the food at all. The garlic potatoes were probably one of the tastiest sided I've ever had. The reason for my low rating is that it isn't great value for money at all. There are several places in Edinburgh that do just as good Food and service but you get a lot more bang for your buck. The service wasn't bad as such. However. One of our party had an allergy to shellfish and when we told the waitress she kept saying words to the effect of 'but a little bit of cross contamination is okay?' As if she didn't understand that when someone is allergic, there is no room for cross contamination at all. This is a slight cause for concern. The overall atmosphere of the place was nice in regards to appearance, however it didn't have a great vibe. Overall, it's definitely worth giving this place a try even just to tick it of your Edinburgh eatery list. But I won't be going back.

Our first visit here (and first meal anywhere as a married couple which was nice) and we would not hesitate to go back, or recommend to anyone looking for fantastic service and equally fantastic food. As soon as we arrived we were treated like royalty, and also treated to a complimentary glass of fizz for being just married! As the menu can be a little confusing for newbies it was explained to us in detail which helped us choose wisely. Honestly the rump steak was as good as I’ve ever had, if I hadn’t been so full I’d have eaten it again. Wine was a little pricey but hey ho, it was nice and it was a special occasion. Couple of nice cocktails to finish off. Can’t wait to go back.

I've almost been to every single steak house in Edinburgh and also tried lots of steaks in other cities/countries but the Galician Fillet was the BEST steak I've ever had. It was so juicy and tender. The steak was so good that I don't even need the sauce! The price also includes a side and sauce so it is totally at a reasonable price. If I had to say one thing, it would be to improve the sides options but the steak itself would be enough to bring me back!
