Called in this Toby Carvery today as we’re catching the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry so a good meal was needed. This Toby didn’t disappoint us. We booked on line and on arrival are booking was recognised and we got seated straight away. It was busy but we had no problem getting our drinks and delicious. James and Chris behind the Carvery were on form and made the experience even better.

Arrived and checked in the Premier Inn and tried to book a table online, unsuccessfully. Needn't have worried, they had availability and made us feel very welcome. Two course meal with bottomless soda cost just over 15.50 each. Really pleasant staff and delicious food. If this review was helpful please give it a like below.

Ali should never be front of staff, she is very rude. I’ve been sat down by a lovely gentleman in the bar because he observed I had a laptop with me and used his excellent customer service skills to offer me a quiet table if I needed it. He did tell me to pay at the bar which is absolutely fine, however I thought paying at the end would be fine. So I went got my food and two ladies were at the service station so I kindly asked them for some cutlery, one lovely lady went to open the draw but Ali decided to slam the draw closed and begin asking me a series of questions as if she was investigating a crime. Ali raised her voice and said: Pay at the bar! I said yes of course but can I also have some cutlery please? Ali kept repeating herself: Pay at the bar! Without any further explanation of how am I going to get some cutlery. Very very rude. I had to pick up some cutlery from an empty table, paid for my food which was delicious but got ruined by rude customer service by Ali. When I paid at the bar the gentleman kindly explained that they hand out cutlery when paying for the meal, but I couldn’t have known that because Ali didn’t share that information. She instead kept ordering me to pay at the bar! How rude!
