We got the full afternoon Tea service which was very pricey but pretty cool. We had the whole room to ourselves. The food and tea were great. We could pick whatever teas we wanted multiple times to try.

I’d like to start by saying the girl who served us was absolutely lovely. She was kind, polite, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. If I were rating based solely on her service, I’d give 5 stars. She even went above and beyond to accommodate a food allergy in our party by ensuring the sandwiches were tweaked accordingly. We had booked the Peter Pan afternoon tea after seeing the ads online, which looked fantastic. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the advertisements. The top tier of the tea wasn’t as presented online, and none of the tables were set up as beautifully as displayed in the promotional images or the window at the entrance of the restaurant. Another downside was that the dining area became very cold while we were eating, making it uncomfortable to stay for long. We ended up leaving after only an hour because of how chilly it got. The room was so chilly our drinks got cold quickly and the ladies sitting at the table next to us were holding their cups to keep warm… One last note: I was surprised to find that the tip wasn’t optional. While I was planning to leave a tip anyway because the girl was lovely, it was just unexpected to see it added automatically. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience, and the service was good. However, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed due to the high expectations set by the images and ads online.

This is a very pleasant and historic spot to have a bite to eat in the heart of Dublin. We've been here twice now, around 1 year apart: once for breakfast and again for tea and a cake. Both times we found the cafe to be busy, but well-serviced and with short to no wait time. The staff is friendly and efficient and the food/drink is excellent. The scone in particular I found to be really good. The tea is brought to the table ready-to-drink, so don't wait too long to pour or you may find it bitter, depending on your preferences/what you ordered. Prices are actually very fair considering the quality and location. The stained glass is lovely and creates a warm atmosphere with the dark wood features of the building. You can get a sneak peak of the bakery through glass windows on your way downstairs to the toilets (which are clean and nice). Will definitely return.
