Set in this quaint Ribble Valley village, Freemasons at Wiswell provides a slice of country refinement with a twist of contemporary creativity and flair. Their aim is to provide the ultimate gastronomic experience in a stylish pub setting that feels as relaxed as your own front room.

Flag stone floors, walls in muted heritage colours, antique rugs and furniture, period paintings and prints all unite to create a stylish and comfortable setting. The bar has an excellent selection of traditional cask conditioned ales from award-winning independent breweries and is complemented by a superb cellar with over 250 wines from around the world.

While the surroundings and welcome are inviting, the main reason to visit is, of course, the food. Steven Smith has created a unique and diverse menu that perfectly matches the style and atmosphere. Visit on a Sunday for one of the hearty roasts, featuring options such as 60 day aged roasted sirloin of Lancashire beef served with all the trimmings. There are also an array of starters, enough to satisfy all those Sunday roast cravings.

Set amongst rolling hills, and breathtaking picturesque valleys, Freemasons is located in Ribble Valley, nestled in the medieval village of Wiswell, just south of Clitheroe.

Visited the freemasons yesterday for a meal and an overnight stay with family. We had the 'taste of freemasons' taster menu with the optional wine flight. The food was exceptional, there wasn't a mouthful we didn't enjoy. The accompanying wines were also excellent and well chosen. The staff were attentive & very welcoming throughout our stay. The accommodation was marvellous; spotlessly clean, quirky and very comfortable. The breakfast next morning was excellent too. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

From the warm welcome to the exceptional service and delicious food, everything was spot on. This place delivers simple pub classics cooked to perfection—with a touch of vavavoom that really sets it apart. Every detail felt thoughtful, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet full of charm. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked our next visit. Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here yesterday. This is a lovely building in a beautiful village with friendly staff. Food was very good and well seasoned as well as being beautifully presented. Lovely toilets. Parking is on the roads around the village but we had no difficulty finding somewhere.
