Do book in advance. Perfect Buckinghamshire dining experience. Small busy kitchen, loads of wait staff. Had booked a table by the door, and watched as at least 10 parties were turned away - no booking and no tables for two hours. Doctor Who fans will appreciate the fish finger sandwich. Sarah in particular was a very dedicated and efficient server as she on boarded a new starter Food was excellent - I was hungry and enjoyed my Calamari followed by fish and chips - perfection

Food has gone downhill with the new owners but staff all very nice and helpful. This was the Napoli pizza, not particularly impressive given that the pizzas used to be amazing when owned by Oakman Inns. Will be back though, and hopefully able to give a better review.

I booked a table for my 70th birthday online, filled in the required forms detailing contact details etc and also date of birth which I assumed would flag up that it was indeed the same day as my birthday. In the week preceding I got 2 email reminders & 2 text messages to remind me & confirm my reservation, which personally I think is obvious as I booked it. On arrival there was a sign outside with a QR code that would give you £10 off your birthday meal. Apparently this can take up to 2 weeks to register, so not really a lot of help. We were almost overcome by the noise level as we walked inside the restaurant. Due to no soft furnishings or noise reduction design you could hardly hold a conversation. When ordering we were told 3 options were not available from the menu severely limiting our choices from a not overly large menu, discounting pizza and pasta. Having ordered we waited for an hour for our starters to arrive, which were very nice. Having had our table cleared we waited another 40 minutes for our main courses to arrive, this only after the waitress had gone to the kitchen to find where our order was. When it did arrive I had ordered skinny chips but I got chunky chips, my garlic mushrooms had probably been in the same room as some garlic but never got on the same plate. My wife ordered a side dish of buttered greens. Seasonal vegetables arrived with some greens under a head of broccoli & carrots which had barely been peeled & just looked as if they had been cut in half. Not particularly appealing to look at let alone eat, which they weren't. The only pleasant thing to come from the evening was a cheerful and helpful waitress, Sarah H, who did her very best to make up for the restaurant's shortfall.
