We visited here Sunday about 12pm, we hadn't booked a table and were seated straight away. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Especially the chef serving the meat!! He was so friendly, chatty and helpful!! The pub wasn't very busy at this time, yet people were seated at the 2 tables directly next to us which are really close together! Awkward! The food was lovely, it's meat and veg! I just can't believe how expensive a Sunday carvery at the Toby has gotten!! 2 carvery's and 2 Pepsi's came to 40 quid!!!! Now that did leave a bitter taste in my mouth!! But that's my fault for not checking the price before we went!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

We had a table booked for 3pm. First visit here. Staff friendly but very stressed after a busy lunch. Glasses piled up at bar, tables not cleared, etc. We could see the few staff on duty were definitely overstretched but doing their best. Our waitress Tracey was lovely. Really enjoyed the food and excellent choices available. Really good value! Look forward to going again soon.

Solid choice for a family dinner. We had the carvery. The meats were fresh, portions generous. The restaurant was extremely busy, the efficient staff keep everything moving and we had only a short wait. The chef at the carving station took time to chat with customers which helped create a pleasant atmosphere. I could suggest a lot more seasoning on the veg, a good dredge of freshly milled black pepper and sea salt would have really lifted them. The restaurant was pleasant but it was very stuffy and warm inside, they have extractor fans but they weren't on. We had a glass of wine and one unlimited soft drink and it was about £40 for two which I feel is good value. (It's cheaper mid week I believe) The staff were all hardworking and friendly. Thanks for making our Sunday Lunch for us! We will be back.
