5.0a week agoWe recently dined at the restaurant in Hotel Collingwood and had a wonderful experience. We both opted for the pork with mashed potatoes, which was absolutely perfect — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. For dessert, we chose the sticky toffee pudding. I asked for custard instead of ice cream, and although the initial portion of custard was a little small, the very friendly and helpful waitress, Katja, promptly brought more without hesitation. Katja was excellent throughout the evening — she guided us through the menu, explained each dish clearly, and ultimately recommended the pork, which turned out to be the perfect choice. Service was fast, professional, and made us feel welcome and relaxed. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience, and we will definitely be coming back again.

5.0a week agoThoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Hotel Collingwood. The room was clean and well decorated and the communal areas are well cared for with pleasant staff. From our room on the third floor we even got a glimpse of the sea. There is a lift to all floors and I believe a pool, but we did not use that. Parking is excellent behind the hotel for 12.50 a night which avoids trying to find a car park space and walking to and from. Access from the car park is slightly tricky with some metal steps, but there is a pull-in at the front where luggage and people can be dropped off. Breakfast was good. The waitresses were happy to swap items around a bit to suit our wants and to find me decaff coffee. The only down I have (literally) is that the hotel is on top of a hill if you go in the direction of the cinema complex and it's a heck of a walk back up!

5.02 weeks agoIncredible hotel that I would defiantly recommend. I stayed for a conference and I could not fault one thing. The room was great, lovely mattress and bedding. The food was excellent too and the staff went above and beyond, they were always so willing to help. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always on top of things. Every need was met, the drinks were always flowing and the choice of food was exceptional, I could not rate this hotel any higher!
