4.0a month agoWe booked a Wowcher overnight stay here. Fantastic location with plenty of things to do, and different places to eat and have a drink. The bakery was beautiful and had the most delicious cakes. We enjoyed the Spa which was included in our package deal. The bedrooms were spotless and nothing to fault. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would return for a visit.

2.0a month agoI was quite disappointed with my stay at this hotel, especially given its 4-star rating. Upon arrival, the reception staff were noticeably rude. When I politely asked for a dressing gown and slippers, I was abruptly told, "You’re not in an executive room," in a very dismissive tone. Considering the price I paid per night, I expected a higher standard of service and amenities. The room itself felt dated, lacked air conditioning, and did not meet the quality I’ve experienced even in 3-star hotels elsewhere in the UK. Breakfast wasn’t included and had to be added on, and access to the spa and pool required prior booking. Then when we did use facilities not the best. Overall, this hotel fell short in several areas, and I won’t be returning. Definitely not up to the standard one would expect from a 4-star property.

4.02 months agoThis is a lovely place, at the outskirts of Bolton, surrounded by the countryside, pet friendly, so ideal to bring your dog. It is a hotel complex in the shape of a historical village, which gives it a unique and different feel. It is far from anything but you got all you need including a pool, spa, hotel bar, a pub, restaurant, boutiques and an old bakehouse. There is also plenty of outdoor seating space. The rooms are clean, not massive but big enough for a few nights. There was no fridge in the room, which was problematic for us as our dog is on a raw food diet. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the service was good and on the ball. The communal areas could be a bit cleaner but were ok. It is a very quiet place so we got a good rest and were able to relax. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this for a shorter trip of 2-3 nights for which it is ideal.
