Myself and the family recently ate at the Toby carvery. I had the lamb, beef and turkey which were all tender and tasty. The potatoes and vegetables were also nicely cooked. There is an option to have a bigger plate for £1.99 for those that want it. It was quite busy inside so it may be worth booking in advance.

Mixed bag. I’m currently on a carnivore diet, so a carvery seemed the perfect place for dinner. When I explained my diet, one of the carvers graciously gave me all five meats. However, his colleague gave me the smallest and most meagre cuts. The gammon was very tasty, the turkey fine, the roast lamb very nice, but the pork was tough and flavorless and the roast beef was almost inedible. The pigs in a blanket were ice cold. While I didn’t try the potatoes, I noted the customers being very selective and my wife’s potatoes were too dry to eat. Maybe I caught them on an off night, but I certainly won’t be back.

This is our local Toby. We love the staff there, always pleasant and polite. The carvery today was all well cooked, fresh and tasty, 2 non meat eaters with us today who loved all of the veg, not overdone, just right! We were waited on by Denny today who is a lovely person and very capable, good at her job. Thank you!
