If you can, I’d strongly recommend upgrading to one of the Club Deluxe rooms where you will have the best bath of your life - roll top right in the room! Staff are lovely, room service was speedy, delicious, and reasonably priced. If you’re driving, you’ll likely have to park round the back on Queens Lane South, but it still gives relatively easy access to the hotel via stairs. If you can’t use stairs, there are designated disabled spaces at the front of the building.

Where to start… after entering the room I immediately saw that the options for windows are either allowing good chunk of the hotel guests a voyeur experience since they will be walking about 6 feet from my bed or to close the curtains completely. The second issue was the heating. I guess I could have taken the hint from the 2 radiators that were in my room, but since I didn’t buy the “figure out how to not freeze at night” package nor did the reception alert me about a problem, it’s not something I was looking after. I sleep rather well at cold temperatures so it wasn’t a problem for me, but I can imagine some guests could take issue with morning room temperatures around 15C The breakfast was resoundingly mediocre experience. Nothing to complain or write home about. Otherwise the hotel is clean, elevators work and the staff is ok. The only reason the place doesn’t get 2 star rating is the price point. It is in that “you get what you pay for” range. The 3.5 feels just about right.

Review of the Restaurant (Visited on Christmas Eve): The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff, setting a welcoming tone for the evening. The service was exceptional, with dishes being brought out simultaneously for everyone at the table. Courses were well-timed, allowing us to enjoy each one at a relaxed pace. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes to cater to different tastes, and the dessert menu was equally diverse, providing plenty of options to choose from. A thoughtful touch was the Christmas crackers provided for each guest, adding to the festive spirit. I also appreciated the thick fabric handkerchiefs provided for our laps, which added a touch of elegance. As for the food, it was outstanding. Each dish was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were just right—generous without being overwhelming. The overall quality and attention to detail made the meal thoroughly enjoyable. While the prices are relatively high compared to other restaurants in Aberdeen, this is understandable given the high-end experience offered. If you’re looking for a premium dining experience, this restaurant is worth it. I would definitely return, as the food and overall experience were truly delightful. The restroom was clean, neatly maintained, and thoughtfully decorated, making it a pleasant and comfortable space to use.
